We have arrived....

We left Gallup, NM around 9:30am their time and traveled through NM to AZ.  We again filed IFR because there was a TRF because of fire activity 37 miles out of Gallop.  We were vectored around the TRF.   The plane performed beautifully again.

Here is a shot of us coming into to Lake Havasu.  The airport is on the other side of this mountain.  I am serious....

Here is a better picture with the lake....

It took us about 2-1/2 hrs to get to Lake Havasu which made it about 11am Lake Havasu time.  We were greeted by some familiar faces and some very nice volunteers who helped us park the plane and tie it down again with chains.  I got our rental car and unloaded the plane.  We figured out quickly that we were missing an important component for the airplane and that was sun screens.  We quickly went to WalMart and picked up two to try to stop the harsh sun from melting things in the plane.  We took out everything that could possible melt in the 112 degree temperatures.  Yes I said 112.  It is suppose to be 115-117 by Tuesday.

Because of the heat I was unable to clean up the plane so we will head out to the airport early tomorrow morning and de-bug it and wax it.  I also need to patch a small section of the race number that was riped off during the flight.

We have been catching up with old friends and meeting new ones.
